How to Change (transition) Guitar Chords Quickly and Smoothly
Beginner Chords and Chord Progressions
In this lesson you’ll learn how to change guitar chords quickly and smoothly. You’ll learn 5 tips to help you out and keep you from forming bad habits.
Tip #1: Find shared fretted notes between the chords and keep any fingers in place that you can
Tip #2: Use the minimum amount of movement when switching chords
Tip #3: Leave out last up strum if possible to allow for more time to transition between chords
Tip #4: Make chord transitions during last up strum and let open strings ring out (if playing open chords that allow for this)
Tip #5: Keep your strumming hand steady and force the chord changes
